Student Sponsorship Program
Each year, Professional Jamaicans for Jamaica, Inc. has taken a keen interest of the many students who need tuition assistance due to financial hardships. We believe that every student deserves an education, despite economic hardship.
Hence, we have created the Student Sponsorship Program to aid students from inner-city and rural communities in Jamaica with their educational development. This program seek sponsors to invest in the educational development of students in Jamaica who would otherwise not be able to afford school, during an academic school year, and face the harsh reality of dropping out of school.
Poverty has been a major hindrance in the educational and youth development of children in Jamaica, and it is the intent of Professional Jamaicans for Jamaica, Inc. to play an integral role to aid students with financial assistance.
Through the Student Sponsorship Program, a sponsor provides financial support to a student enrolled in Early Childhood Education, Primary School Education and High School Education for an academic school year. This program tailors the support for students in Jamaica, by providing financial assistance in areas of tuition, textbooks, uniforms, and examination fees. The category of sponsorship to students is as follows:
- Early Childhood Education: Tuition Assistance
- Primary School Education: Textbooks Assistance to students preparing for the GSAT examinations
- High School Education: Tuition and Examination Fees Assistance
An important element of the Student Sponsorship Program involves working on ways to improve the standard of living for the students on a whole. At the end of each academic school year, sponsors will receive a copy the sponsored student’s school report to keep abreast on the progress of the student. Correspondence with your sponsored student is also possible. However, parental consent must be granted.
